Yield vs Points - Key Differences

Two Separate Reward Systems

JVAULT has two distinct reward mechanisms that work independently:

🏦 Yield (Through NAV)

  • Who gets it: ALL JVAULT holders
  • How it works: NAV increases when vault performs well
  • When updated: Every Sunday after positions close
  • No conditions: Lock status doesn't matter

🎯 Points (Loyalty Rewards)

  • Who gets it: ALL JVAULT holders
  • Base rate: 1.0x for everyone
  • Multiplier: Only during active lock periods
  • Purpose: Future airdrop distributions

Yield Distribution

Yield Distribution

Vault Performance → NAV Changes → All JVAULT Holders Benefit

Example: Week 1: NAV = $1.00 Week 2: Vault gains 5% → NAV = $1.05 Result: ALL JVAULT holders gained 5%, regardless of lock status

Yield Scenarios

Holder TypeJVAULT AmountWeek 1 ValueWeek 2 ValueGain
Locked User1,000$1,000$1,050$50
Unlocked User1,000$1,000$1,050$50
DEX Buyer1,000$1,000$1,050$50

Key Point: Lock status has zero impact on yield distribution.

Points Distribution

Points Distribution

Lock Status → Points Multiplier → Future Airdrop Share

Base Rule: All JVAULT holders get 1.0x points Bonus Rule: Active lock holders get multiplier (1.3x - 2.0x)

Points Scenarios

UserJVAULTLock StatusPoints RateDaily Points
A1,00090-day lock2.0x2,000
B1,000No lock1.0x1,000
C1,000Lock expired1.0x1,000

Lock Lifecycle Example

Lock Lifecycle Example

Day 0: User deposits $1,000, locks 30 days └── Gets: 1,000 JVAULT + 1.3x points multiplier

Day 1-30: Active lock period ├── Yield: Receives all NAV changes (same as everyone) ├── Points: 1,000 × 1.3 = 1,300 points/day └── Transfer: Cannot transfer JVAULT tokens

Day 31: Lock expires ├── Yield: Still receives all NAV changes
├── Points: 1,000 × 1.0 = 1,000 points/day (base rate) ├── Transfer: Can transfer JVAULT tokens └── Withdrawal: Can request withdrawal

Day 45: User wants multiplier again └── Must: Create new lock (7/30/60/90 days) to get bonus points

Common Misconceptions

❌ Wrong: "Locked users get more yield"

✅ Correct: All JVAULT holders get same yield through NAV

❌ Wrong: "Points continue at multiplier after lock expires"

✅ Correct: Points drop to base rate, must re-lock for multiplier

❌ Wrong: "Can transfer JVAULT during lock period"

✅ Correct: JVAULT is non-transferable during active lock

❌ Wrong: "DEX buyers don't get any rewards"

✅ Correct: DEX buyers get full yield + base points

Strategic Implications

For Yield Maximization

  • Lock status irrelevant for yield
  • Focus on vault performance and NAV growth
  • Consider withdrawal timing (Sunday settlements)

For Points Maximization

  • Longer locks = higher multipliers
  • Must re-lock after expiration for continued bonuses
  • Balance liquidity needs vs points accumulation

For Liquidity Management

  • Locked tokens cannot be sold/transferred
  • Plan lock periods carefully
  • Consider multiple smaller locks instead of one large lock

FAQ

Q: Do I earn less yield if I don't lock? A: No, yield is identical for all JVAULT holders.

Q: What happens to my points when lock expires? A: Points continue at base rate (1.0x). You must re-lock for multiplier.

Q: Can I sell JVAULT during lock period? A: No, JVAULT tokens are non-transferable during active locks.

Q: Do DEX buyers get the same yield? A: Yes, yield is distributed equally to all JVAULT holders.
